Welcome
to a website dedicated in the name of Greg Beckett a truly calm,
smooth, friendly and well experienced member of the DJ society. We hope that
you will find loads of useful information and will keep "Greg Beckett Entertainments" in mind if you ever have a special event/occasion.
Greg is quite well known for DJin on radio's as well as Bar's/Clubs, Big Charity Events and Party/Celebration Disco’s also, on top of all is always up for meeting new friends and having a good laugh.
Right from the beginning music has always been a big part of Greg’s life, his
Granddad being a professional pianist, his Dad having Grade 5 and a true feeling
for soul & mod music.
His Mum was also devoted to music, as music was always a big part of her life as
she grew up and this feeling stayed with her for life, another true influence on
Greg, but to a different kind of degree as pop music was her main devotion along with Motown.
The genres of music Greg listened to as he grew up were all very different
including; Classical, Rhythem & Blues, Motown Records, Northern Soul, Ska Music,
Pop Music & many other generations of music including chart stuff as well. This
gave Greg an incredible taste of selection for when he became something of a
well-known DJ.
Part and parcel of life Greg has had to climb through rough stages whilst loosing close family members and this obviously made Greg realise his true independence and feelings, he has since bunched up with many friends through-out the UK and got on with his life, as he strolled through many differnt stages music would always be a true priority and importance.
Whilst having a unique style & taste in many different kinds of music, Greg
decided upon himself to be part of the tradition you might know as "Mods" a
early 60's tradition of middle-class boys who were obsessed with new fashions &
music styles and also usually owned a scooter like you might of seen today (some
loaded with mirrors), Well whether you know or not the scooter scene is still
around with many Scooter Clubs around the whole of the UK, Greg being part of
one in his home-town of Chesterfield, The Spiral Scooter Club. Greg has many
friends within the scooter scene and hosts big events and occasions for them.
During Greg’s teenage life he was quite involved with computers and found himself building different websites and messing about with different applications, and by the age of 16 Greg had pretty much figured the html, php and website designing skills to build a very smart website himself.
Whilst also being into computers and websites Greg knew of the online radio industry and had stepped onto a professional internet radio station that was built by an FM DJ, and this gave Greg an incredible touch to how he presented himself.
Once Greg had been on the radio station for a while and had been promoted to Radio Manager he decided upon himself to build an international radio station of his own and that’s exactly what he did, and after opening this online radio station he developed a team of staff and officially ran a radio station with thousands of visitors, Greg has since presented thousands of broadcasts over his radio and also many events, discos & gigs.
Greg would like to thank the whole of his family and many friends for supporting him in his career and wishes to give a special mention to both Grandmothers, and one Grandfather (Pop) who are no longer with us today – as they were always a big part of Greg’s life and supported him dearly.
